As the 2012-2013 school year comes to a close, we celebrate the years our retirees have worked in Pewaukee Schools and the many activities students were involved in. Email Change for all Pewaukee Schools Staff
On July 2, 2013, the Pewaukee School District will change email providers. All Pewaukee School District staff email addresses will change to "username"@pewaukeeschools.org. Please make this change in your address book.

PHS Music Accomplishments
Choir students sophomore Nick and freshman Paige were selected for the 2013 Wisconsin State Honors Choir. They competed with over 1,500 students for the 400 spots in the Honors Project. They will attend a camp in June and perform in the Overture Center at the Wisconsin Music Educator's Convention in Oct. Click here to listen to Paige singing her selection for the honors choir.

Digital Photography Work is Published
PHS Digital Photography students in teacher Jeanne. Bjork's class participated in an international book project. The book will be sold to raise money for a school in Africa. Their work (click here) is featured on pages 16-18 and includes the following student artists: Shannon Douglas, Megan Becker, Morgan Patterson, Mackenzie Barton and Aspen Johnson. 
PHS Art Students' Work in Permanent Memorial
On May 25th, the Pewaukee Amiercan Legion Post 71 dedicated an impressive war memorial to all branches of service. The memorial includes the artwork of 10 students who were in retired teacher Lee Warnes class two years ago. Thanks to freshman Jackson Wolf for taking photos and video, this slideshow gives an overview of the event (click).

Relay for Life Raised Thousands!
The most successful fundraiser in the history of Pewaukee Schools, Relay for Life raised over $16,000. The top student fundraiser was Hayley Blau ($520) and the top team was the Hawkeyes, headed by team captain Kelsey Morgan, and raising $1,393. Key Club advisor Jennifer Klemme reported that 200 students participated in the all night event that allowed almost no sleep

INTERNATIONAL ART COLLABORATION PROJECT
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Mrs. Bjork's Digital Photography students participated in a Mythology book project.  This is an international collaborative project featuring the work of students in China, the USA and more.  Several PHS students' works were chosen for publication in the final book, which will be sold to raise money for a school in Africa. 
 
PHS students' work is featured on pages 16-18 and includes the following student artists:  Shannon Douglas, Megan Becker, Morgan Patterson, Mackenzie Barton and Aspen Johnson.

STUDENTS MEET NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Pewaukee High School is proud to announce that the following PHS juniors have met requirements to enter the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program:

                                         Mona Cicero
                                         Ryan Franda
                                        Jacob Stern
                                        Karen Young

Through their outstanding performance on the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT), these high performers have shown outstanding academic potential. Each of these students is among the highest scoring participants of some 1.5 million program entrants. Students moving forward in the National Merit Program will be notified in September.

Congratulations and good luck to Mona, Ryan, Jacob and Karen!

Please call the Attendance Office (262-695-5017 - Mrs. Skurulsky) each morning (prior to 7:30 a.m.) your child will be absent from school or tardy to school.  If your child has an appointment during the school day, send a note or call the same attendance number for any requests for appointments, messages, etc. Please state your name and your child's name clearly and the time they need to leave and the reason.

Only one book captures this year's events and experiences at Pewaukee High School, your 2012-2013 yearbook! You can still order a 2012-2013 PHS yearbook, but the price went up after the January 25th, 2013 initial order deadline.  The price has increased to $100. Order forms are available in the black rack outside of the main office and in room 223. If you are unsure whether you have ordered a yearbook, please consult the PHS Yearbook School Fusion Page for a list of 2013 PHS Yearbook Orders.

WISCONSIN ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to PHS Associate Principal, Danielle Bosanec, for being named the 2012-13 Wisconsin Associate Principal of the Year!  Danielle has been with the District for nine years, first serving as a social studies teacher and then transitioning into a Dean of Students role before becoming our Associate Principal three years ago.  Danielle is an outstanding educational leader who leads a variety of programs at PHS.  Way to go Danielle!

A & B DAY CALENDAR ON LEFT, 3rd TAB

We have put this year's high school "A" & "B" day calendar schedule on the left, 3rd tab down of this page. Many parents and students have requested this to help with making appointments, college visits, etc.  We hope this is a useful tool and will come in handy to both parents and students.
HOW TO SEND TRANSCRIPTS
______________________________________________________________________________________

Pewaukee High school sends transcripts electronically through Parchment. Families need to register with Parchment and then may send transcripts to any college, the NCAA, and other destinations. 
 
To register, go to www.parchment.com and follow directions to “Sign Up.”
If the student is younger than 18, we suggest the parent set up the Parchment account; if the student is 18, s/he may set up a student account. Only 1 account should be registered per student. Talk to one another about username and password!
 
-  Click on “Sign up” in upper right corner of Parchment home page
-  Follow prompts to complete registration process
-  Required Information:
        -  Email, Password, Name [as it appears on PHS transcript] , Date of Birth
        - “Date started” high school is 2009 (year you started high school)
        “Last Year Attendance” is 2013 (or year you graduated)
        -  Student ID and Social Security Info is not necessary; Parchment stores data by name 
            and birth date
        -  Must sign FERPA release form; we encourage you to waive right to view
           recommendation info (use your mouse to sign)
-  Once completed, activation link will be sent to email account
 
            Transcripts are $2 each payable by credit card
 
Parchment also offers a College Discovery, Newsletter, and Discussion Board Service. As student information could be provided to third parties such as colleges, test prep companies, etc, we advise you to opt out of these services.
WHAT IS A DPI SCHOOL REPORT CARD?
On Oct. 22, 2012 the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released new School Report Cards to the public.  These report cards are the new public accountability reporting instrument developed by the DPI to communicate school performance to communities. These report cards include state testing results aligned with new higher performance standards. (Please click here to learn more about the School Report Cards.)
